As someone who gets called a ‘grammar-nazi’ (I prefer word-nerd) let me just point out how singular they IS grammatically correct. In almost all scenarios. I’ve used example where the gender of the person is unknown…

I have no gender on facebook, you just leave it as Select Gender.
