I don’t really get why pro-lifers think this is such a great quote.

Is it supposed to make a person who had an abortion believe they are the parent of a dead child and suddenly need to break down and regret their decision?

What is the purpose of it? It’s such a self-gratifying thing to say to someone.

If I was someone who had had an abortion and someone said this to me I think I’d start laughing because, WHAT?

This quote is so…it’s meant to be “in your face” but it falls flat and it honestly just makes me feel embarrassed for whoever says it unironically. It’s definitely something someone says to make themselves feel better about someone else’s choice.

It’s fucking stupid is what it is.

If an abortion doesn’t stop you being pregnant anymore (un-pregnant is a nonsense word, and a scare-word) if makes you the PARENT* of a dead baby, and that should make you feel awful, then…

My friend had two miscarriages - one in the first trimester, one in the second. Is she the mother to two dead babies? Should she feel bad and awful? She didn’t realise the first one, but the second was a mostly-wanted baby.
My other friend and his girlfriend have a baby together, and in the body-weirdness of post-pregnancy, it turns out she had a miscarriage, because her birth control hadn’t started working. How many children do they have? Is he the father of a kid and a dead kid?
For all anybody knows, that time they had not-100%-protected sex (as in, MOST SEX) and then a heavy period, they had a miscarriage! Are half my friends in relationships parents of dead babies?
Or are the people that say that shit illogical, scare-tactic-using douchecanoes? I wonder…
